Smith Inland Environmental Services, Inc. has experienced personnel in the area of landfill remediation. Specialized excavation of landfill debris, transport and proper disposal of classified material is a specialty of Smith Inland Environmental Services, Inc. A completed project for an institutional client included the specialized demolition of existing facilities and the delineation of the boundaries and depth of the closed landfill site. 34,000 cubic yards of classified landfill debris were excavated from the site and transported to an approved landfill location. The site was backfilled with engineered fill to stringent density requirements. This site has been developed as the indoor training area for the football program of a Big 12 university.

INDUSTRIAL PLANT DECOMMISSION AND CLOSURE
Smith Inland Environmental Services, Inc. provides services in industrial plant closure. We are experienced in all phases of asphalt plant, petroleum facilities, underground fuel vaults, and pipeline demolition. We recently completed the process of dismantling an asphalt plant that had been in operation for 26 years in the same location. Project includes removal of six 30,000 gallon underground petroleum storage tanks. Removal and proper recycling or disposal of hundreds of yards of asphaltic materials in various stages of viscocity. Pug mill, bag house, heating oil circulation system, and heated dryer were all demolished. 35 above ground storage tanks were defluidized, fire safed, and destroyed on site. Project was completed without cash outlay by client.
OILFIELD RECLAMATION AND CLOSURE
Personnel performed initial site assessment, soil and groundwater testing, and remedial design of an oilfield being closed prior to the residential development of the property.
Project included removal of downhole tools, sucker rod, and pump apparatus. De-fluidized and removed underground flow lines. Removed petroleum sludges and dismantled storage tanks. Performed plugging operations to close all wells. Removed sludge pits and contaminated soils. Reclamation project completed and property was sold for residential uses without restriction.
