Project Experience Includes:
- US Department of Defense, US Air Forces: Modification, and partial decommission of a high pressure jet fuel pipeline system; fire safe and dismantle jet fuel control systems and; fire safe and removal of 2.1 million gallons of jet fuel storage. All tanks were sheared on site. Feeder lines under runway and tarmac were cemented. Several hot taps completed on pressurized jet fuel system with no down time. All work completed during active flight operations in classified area. 44,000 cubic yards were used to backfill excavated site locations. Hydrant Fuel Pumphouse sites were restored to standards of compaction and proper drainage. 7 acres of native grass sod was used to replace disturbed vegetation at the sites. The electrical pad mount transformers that serve the air base ILS system were also upgraded. Smith Inland Environmental Services,Inc personnel were tasked with all phases of project management, cost control, and implementation of the project.
- Asphalt Plant Closures: Smith Inland Environmental Services, Inc. fire safed, decommissioned, and demolished two idled hot mix asphalt plants for a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company. Project included removal of 4,300 bbl (682,668 liters) of petroleum waste in varying levels of viscosity. All petroleum waste was recycled through an active hot mix asphalt plant and reused as product. Large amounts of metal scrap were generated at the plants and tanks were sheared on site. All waste generated was recycled.
- Numerous UST removals at housing units, industrial fueling facilities, service stations, convenience stores, and commercial areas.
